Introduction to nondestructive testing

Non-destructive testing, is the use of non-destructive methods to check the internal or surface defects of materials, blanks and parts and evaluate their overall quality technology, also known as non-destructive testing. Its English name is Nondestructive Testing, referred to as NDT. Through the use of NDT, the defects existing in the interior and surface of the material or workpiece can be found, the geometric characteristics and dimensions of the workpiece can be measured, and the internal composition, structure, physical properties and state of the material or workpiece can be determined. NDT can be applied to product design, material selection, processing and manufacturing, finished product inspection, in-service inspection (maintenance) and other aspects, and can play an optimal role between quality control and cost reduction. NDT also helps to ensure the safe operation and/or effective use of the product. The term nondestructive testing was first called testing or nondestructive testing, and different methods are also called testing, such as X-ray testing, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, penetration testing, and so on. This name or writing is widely spread, and has been used until now, its use is no less than the term nondestructive testing.
